It is a warming drink in cold weather and an excellent thirst quencher in hot weather. There are many people who, in concern for their own health, wonder how many calories tea actually contains. This drink is most preferred because of its low calorie content, but sometimes it can cause gaining excess weight.

Types of Tea

Modern manufacturing processes have more than a thousand and a half varieties for consumption. The type of tea depends on how the leaves are processed:

  • black, fermented;
  • white, green - unfermented;
  • yellow, red, purple - semi-fermented;
  • floral, fruit, herbal, flavored - special varieties.

Tea with honey

One hundred grams of honey contain approximately 327 calories. The energy value is affected by the ratio of fructose to glucose, which varies depending on the variety:

  • light (flower, linden) - 280 kcal;
  • Dark (heather, buckwheat) - 320 kcal.

A teaspoon of the product contains 8-10 grams, and a tablespoon contains 18-20 grams. The amount depends on the density. More liquid in consistency honey fits more in a spoon.
